Tahia Anan Dhira
Hello! I am a computational social science enthusiast with research interests at the intersection of economics, network science, and digital communication. While working on international trade, trade-embodied emissions, and population migration networks, I became increasingly curious about the diffusion of culture and information, much like people, capital, goods, and services, across networks. At the same time, as I watched how cultural, linguistic, and political discourse in Bangladesh transformed through social media, and how digital communication fanned the flames in the student-led mass movement of 2024, I became fascinated with studying digital discourse and online communication networks. Hence, I intend to use computational methods to grasp how social and political attitudes and discourses emerge, evolve, and spread through online interactions.
Born and raised in Dhaka, I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Dhaka.
I welcome potential research collaborations.
